With Its rapid growth trajectory by the year 2020, India's civil aviation industry is all set to become third largest in aviation Market and a decade later it is going to lead the world. With a business share of US $ 16 bn (approx.), India is currently the ninth largest civil aviation market in the world. The growth rate in domestic air traffic is 23 % over the previous year and is expected to cross 100 million passengers by 2020 (Source Asia Pacific Aviation) The world's leading aircraft manufacture AIRBUS estimates India's aviation industry will grow at 10% annually in the coming decades, which is double the average growth rate of aviation industry globally.

In terms of fund flow, skill reserves, capacity management, infrastructure availability and establishing strategic partner ships, both Boeing and Airbus are all set to expand their market in Indian aviation industry India's leading auto components manufacturer Bharat Forge Ltd and Rolls Royce have entered into JV to manufacture a varied range of aero engines. Tata advance system Limited (TASL) and Boeing have signed a JV to establish a center of excellence for the manufacture of aero structure in India.
